Description: This workshop will help supervisors become familiar with the latest recommendations from Counselor Education and Supervision research in how best to support counselors in their work with suicidal clients.

Objectives: Providers will learn strategies to assess counselor supervisees' needs in being able to provide effective suicide prevention, assessment, and intervention to their clients. Learn strategies to increase suicide competencies of counselor supervisees.

Presenter: Heidi Ehrlich, MA, LMHC, NCC

Heidi is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State and is certified in EMDR and as a NCC. Heidi owns a solo private practice called Hope Haven Counseling and also works as an adjunct instructor at Gonzaga University in the Counselor Education program. Heidi serves on the Prevent Suicide Spokane Coalition event planning committee and also provides a free support group for survivors of a loved one's suicide (SOLOS) in Spokane. Heidi is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University.
