Introduction to the 4-Dimensional Wheel of Sexual Experience

In this brief lecture where the late Dr. Gina Ogden, PhD introduces the 4-D Wheel - an Integrative Model for Exploring Desire and Intimacy. This is a model she developed from data collected from a study of over 3400 people about their sexual lives - what nourished, healed and hurt this aspect of the human experience. The 4-D Wheel is a treatment model and process that is remarkably healing when used with both individuals and relatonships. Through utilizing movement, ritual, concretizing and holding space, clients are able to explore how pain and pleasure locates on all four quadrants of body, mind, emotions and meaning, and through this exploration claim an ecstatic liberating story. Gina Ogden is an award-winning sex therapist, family therapist, researcher, teacher, and author. She is founder of the 4-D Network, an international collaboration of practitioners whose mission is to expand the practice of therapy and sex therapy beyond limiting notions of function and dysfunction to include a wide range of diversity and experience. She conducts retreats and trainings internationally, lectures widely, leads teleseminars attended by professionals all over the world, and has appeared in the media from talk radio to the Oprah Winfrey Show. She supervises and trains sex therapists, physicians, nurses, social workers, family therapists, and other health providers in the Four-Dimensional Wheel approach, to broaden their understanding of sexual experience.
